The Animal-Cruelty Syndrome - NYTimes.com

A long article about animal cruelty, focusing first on dogfighting. Some of the now-usual discussion of the links between violence against animals and that against people, but not solely. (A relief- I think causing suffering is quite sufficient to be a dastardly act, worthy of legal punishment).
I haven't read the whole article yet, but I'm glad the subject is in the Sunday magazine of this major newspaper.

That was difficult to read ...it's heartbreaking the things people do.

Very difficult to read. However it all needed to be said.
And today, not far from my home, two teen aged boys were arrested for setting a turtle on fire using gasoline, and impaling the poor creature.
