Gigalo, here (ESFP's Lab),
I thought I had a tick at the base of my ear. Then it seemed to be a cyst. Went to the Vet, had it laser removed and sent for biopsy. Turns out it was a very common cancer called "Mast Cell Tumor". The Vet says he sees them often. Owners may want to briefly read up on them. Just for info, it cost us $230 for the laser removal and biopsy. Pet Owner's Crash Course in Canine Mast Cell Tumors
Good news. Vet just called to confirm that the biopsy came back with no spread of cancer. Seems he got it all. If it had branched to the border of the removal cut, it would be possible that there would be more. Thanks for the good wishes. The biopsy wasn't required, and cost around $100, but we're thrilled that we now know that this is the end of this problem. That was money well spent. We'll just have be alert if we see it again. Hope you, and your pets, stay in good health.
