She is concerned the dogs could be sold to medical laboratories for experimentation with medication or to study their brain or whatever. These dogs don't make it out alive.
Where's the confusion on that? I think I must have missed something.
I'm glad to see I wasn't the only one who thought this could be a possibility for these poor pups .
I live in Newport News VA (where Vick is from, unfortunately) and I volunteer alot at the SPCA in town. I know for a fact they wont take those dogs, especially because they have some association with dog fighting. I was AMAZED at the number of pit bulls, especially ones that have been in fights, that show up at the shelter. We even had one tied to the fence overnight and it had its ears cut off, completely. Its so sad and most of the time the dogs they get have to be put to sleep for various reasons. It really stinks.
Wi-Girl The FEDS have the dog in northern VA. So your local humane socity has nothing to worry about. Did anyone at the h.s. supect that there was dog fighting going on?
i am so sorry to hear about these dogs, i think the owners should be put down not the dogs, anyone who fights there dogs is sick, and should be put in a room with a load of dog lovers with base ball bats, i really hope these dogs will see a better life, i wish i could help but i live in spain so way to far away sorry ,
1st of all the dogs I am talking about are puppies, mothers & untrained young adults. 2nd they are still alive and are going to be evaluated to see about adopting them!
IF saving a life is warped the I gladly except that title!!!

I'm sorry but, IMO, Pit Bulls are not the best breed as a "family pet" - and my feeling is only stronger if the family has children -
As an aside, there are now some communities that are outlawing the breed. Also, many insurance companies WILL NOT write insurance for you if you have certain breeds - particularily the Pit Bull
Well they ARE still alive & the SPCA IS evaluating them!!!
