I will be a guest in their home for the three days.

As far as licensed with rabies shots, I'll tell you two true stories in my county:
1. two dogs kept in an outdoor cage 24 hours a day, no collars. The County Health Dept. (Environmental Safety) came out and asked to see proof of the dog's rabies shots, since they had no collars or tags. No proof and they were given X number of days to get them the shots, or be fined.
2. about a year later a couple around the corner got new neighbors with a outside dog on a chain. There is a leash law so chains or cage. The lady called the same Environmental Health Dept. but the answer was different than the other time. #1 they came out and asked for proof of rabies shots. #2 they told the lady that they can not ask the pet owner if they have rabies shots, until
after they have bitten someone. That is rather a dumb new rule. You should get rabies shots and have a rabies tag on your pet
before it bites someone.
Some of these county offices are lame.
So, the rules from county to county, and state to state, are different.
We are
not required to license out pets inside the city limits.
I'm meeting the labradors tomorrow afternoon.
By the way, I try to plan head on anything, and consider anything unusual that could happen.
If it does, I'm already prepared and have already got a plan in place, for the unexpected.
