And I landed a Staffordshire - me, with 6 Rottweilers! I don't even know where the Rotties were at, but they were way down the list of the 163 matches I had...but who told these people Bichons are low maintenance on grooming, lol???

Looks like they are basically the same except the IStaff is taller.
Since you know a lot about SBT what is the difference in them really. I did read what you said and observed the pictures. The SBT is shorter and a little heavier overall? The ISBT is leaner and taller? When looking around at website I find kind of the same description except on some breeders sites. I have seen SBT (English) that looked like the 2nd dog and were bred for performance. On one breeder site they were in England and not registered as ISBT. So it left me confused? I'm not sure if the dog was quite as tall but same builds. More like a small APBT then SBT.

Wouldn't having a ISBT be risky to have in England due to the bans of APBT and close resemblence. There were SBT taken and killed since it was at the discretion of the law. In one case the a poor SBT was returned after being found to not be an APBT. This dog was healthy when taken and then returned starved like a skeleton by the RSPCA. The pictures were sick. The story was in the Gazette. I don't see how these groups claim to be for the prevention of cruelty, I guess they are just self exempt.

That was kind of crazy on the "May occasionally chase or kill small animals" It should say might be animal aggressive or have a high prey drive. The wording just sounds bad when they ask how friendly you want the dog and you are answering that you want it to kill. Accepting that it is possible behavior and wanting it are 2 different things.

The AP one 84 matches and I got the hunting types which I DO NOT like. I have nothing against them just not for me.

Weimaraner 98% German Pointer 96% At least I got the AmStaff and Baeuceron at 95% Both breeds I like and have owned a female that was more then 50% AST.

I realize no "test" like this is perfect but I don't understand how I got Belgian Tervuren 94% and Belgian Malinois at 93% when they are essentially the same breed and I wanted low maintenance. The Tervs coat doesn't require a lot but I'd say more then the short coat of the Mal. I've owned a Mal before. Then to ad to it I got Belgian sheepdog 92% (which includes the Terv & Mal both). They should just have Belgian Shepherd and include all 4 types and be done with it.

There were others that I like and really don't like. Too many spaniel, pointer, retriever and setters for me.

On the dogbreedinfo I got
An Afghan/Border collie cross. WTH. I put purebred no hybrids were to be listed. Then after that it said Aiaredale Terrier No Thanks.
3rdly was Spanish Alano!!! Awesome one of my favs. Then American Bulldog, American Pit Bull Terrier & American Staffordshire Terrier of which all I've owned and loved. Australian Cattle Dog, no way ever!!! Boxer & Cane Corso, yeah like those. Dogo Argentino, do like them, never had one before. I got a lot of breeds I really don't look and a bunch of hybrid crap even though I said purebred.

THe Irish Kennel Club dosent even recognise the Irish Staffordshire Bull Terrier (as far as I can tell). Their characteristics look the same except for the overall build. Im not sure what the deal is :S

The dog at the top of my list (99%) was a Tibetan Mastiff. Which I hadn't considered before. I had been looking at getting a Great Pyreness (98%). I don't think there are too many of either breed in Alaska, but I'll look.

I have never heard of an Irish Staffie?! They are gorgeous though! I love all "pit bull" type breeds! It is pretty much the same thing, if you read the origin it says the same thing it does for the AmStaff, except instead of the Staffie being brought to American it was brought to Ireland. I know that they are all different breeds now, but American Staffordshire Terriers, American Pit Bull Terriers and I guess the Irish Staffordshire Bull Terriers really all came from the Staffordshire Bull Terriers. I think they are all wonderful!

Yes and No. If you treat them firm and nice when they are young they are easily controlable. You HAVE to socialise them because they are guard dogs, they guard herds. My inlaws dog dosent like people beccause they didnt socialise him. I tried to work with him for a while and got him to tolerate and eventually like allot of people that he meets, but if hemeets a stranger he cant be near them as he goes crazy. My Pyrese Goliath loved everybody though, even though he was abused when we got him. When I worked with him and his neverousness around people he eventually got that people love him and dont want to hurt him.
