He's finally 16 weeks, fully vaccinated, and he did a half day "meet & greet" day at daycare today!

I'm not so sure he liked it. Our little stormtrooper, the pup we've nicknamed Thuggie, the most fearless and self-confident puppy I have ever seen...was overwhelmed. We were thinking he'd lord it over all the other little dogs at the place, but his ears were pinned back, his eyes darted all over the place, and he kept seeking out the human attendants who walk around and play with the dogs.

This is not the Teddy we know and love -- and frankly, I think it's a little cute and funny. Maybe he got taken down a peg or two today. The big fish in the little pond was suddenly not the big fish in the big pond?

I think he will love it after he's been there a few times. We can't afford to send the dogs too often, maybe 2-3 times a month for the two of them. It's a good break for all of us. I got a lot done outside. The dogs are down for the count. Maybe we can watch a movie uninterrupted tonight!!

This is a sign that having doggie interaction will be good for him. I'm sure he'll love it eventually.

Ha! You need to get video of this.

A good friend of mine runs a daycare/training/grooming business. She is really good. She says, and I have seen this myself, that as long as "mom and/or dad" is on the premises, newbie dogs act all scared and clingy to their humans. Dog parents leave, and the dog is all "let's partaaay!!!!"

It's probably really good for Teddy.

Well, they told us he was quite timid to start and then opened up a bit, but they were surprised he wasn't the little thug I had described! He was clingy with the monitor for his group, which she thought was adorable. He has always had interactions with other dogs, with the ones he fostered with (they were awful yappy unfriendly beasts) and now with Karma, who he adores. Oh, and the standard poodles from two doors down. He loves to play with them. He was probably more upset about being separated from Karma, and those were new surroundings. He is such a cool little dude, I'm sure he will settle in.

I should have clarified that I saw him acting like that in midafternoon when I picked the dogs up. My husband dropped the dogs off this morning and said Mr. T. was perfectly happy to trot away with the girls to the play area.

He was probably just tired at the end of it all. I'll bet he had a blast most of the time.

One thing was certain -- he was one tired little guy! We actually got to watch a recorded episode of 'Game of Thrones' last night, completely uninterrupted! Honestly, if we didn't have DVR, we would never get to see anything on television!
