It's a very worthy cause! Thanks for sharing.
Pets for Vets is another group that does not provide trained service dogs, but does train and match shelter pets for vets with PTSD (and I'm sure we all know how much the love of a pet can mean to someone who's struggling).

Along those lines, A&E has a new series Dogs of War - Episodes, Video & Schedule - A&E Dogs of War which shows an organization (run by a veteran) that takes shelter dogs and trains them to be service dogs.

There are several organizations that help dogs and veterans. The Puppy Rescue Mission (501(c) charity) Welcome to the Puppy Rescue Mission is one that helps reunite soldiers with their "battle buddies" and helps them bring back retired working dogs (bomb sniffing etc.) back to the U.S. when the dogs retire.
