I love animals and this movie apparently forced a German Sherperd into rushing water and the petrified animal almost drowned/not something I want to fund.
That GSD showed amazing restraint by not biting that idiot "trainer". I hope charges are brought against him and the film, that should have never happened to that dog.
I was thinking about seeing this but I was afraid it would make me sad. The most tear-inducing movie I ever saw was Hachi - A Dog's Tale. I can't even think about that movie without crying especially since it is a true story.
I just came to post this myself. Absolutely no excuse for this kind of treatment. I hope everybody avoids this movie. This is just so wrong. Write to your local paper and include the video. I will post over in my own city's CD forum. As well as my FB page.
Yeah, I saw that segment on TMZ yesterday. I really wanted to see this movie because I like the idea of the same dog coming back over and over. I actually think my current dog might be the one I had in my childhood 60 years ago.
That said, this just makes me so angry. Animal abuse in movies is legendary, but it's supposed to have been pretty much stopped due to angry customers and PETA, who occasionally does something good, even though they're goofy. Too bad we can't do the same thing to the "trainer".
So upset about this, have been eagerly awaiting the film as the book is one of my favorites. I feel terrible for the book's author, and his wife, who was the screenwriter. Neither were there or knew this was happening but they are kind of being dragged in.
okay so I will avoid the film and not read the book either . I think that idiot trainer should have been fired on the spot . does anyone know the trainers name ? I hope the author and his wife drop out of the movie and I hope the producers would scrap it so no one gets a dime .

You don't have to avoid the book. The author was not there, and was not aware that this happened. I follow him on Facebook and he's heartbroken this happened. The book is amazing.
