She first ate like 1 lb of treats that she stole. She never stole food before so this was a shock for me.
After that she wasn't feeling well and would not poop. So, I took her on a walk so she can poop but she fell twice. The second time she fell she laid there for a while. This was about a week ago.
Since that time, she has trouble walking and getting up more than usual. She has hip dysplacia and is 14 so it has been hard for her to walk but now it is worse. She was getting better so I figured that it was from the fall and she just needed rest. I have given her pain meds but then yesterday, she developed big fluid sack on her one side of her face near her eye. Today, the sack is moving down on the side of her mouth.
I don't know if the fluid sack and her walking are related.
Can anyone tell me what this is? Is this something that can be treated by a vet that comes to the house? My dog cannot walk and she is 75 lbs so I need a vet to come here. Or else I have to figure out how to rent a mini van and take her to a vet.
Yep. Take your dog to a vet ASAP. Something is going on and with a dog that old it could be something you could ease with little effort or it could be cataclysmic. What is she on for the hip dysplasia?
We do not see your location, but search for a mobile vet in your area.
Not to be a pessimist too much, but 14 is old for a 75 pound dog.
Good luck to both of you.
It wasn't the treats or the fall. She had cancer and she got worse so fast. We had to put her down. We are devastated.
