I will be getting a new puppy this summer - almost one year to the day after our previous dog passed away.

It has been a long time since I've had a puppy as our last girl joined our family when she was two years old. Does anyone have a recommendation for a book or a youtube channel that is helpful for guiding us through how to prepare and then how to train?

Congratulations on the new puppy coming!

I know what you mean about a long time since having a puppy. When we got our most recent one, summer of 2019, it had been 14 years since we had a puppy in the house, and 19 years since we'd had a puppy WITHOUT AN ADULT DOG TO HELP!

Actually it is better to get a book that is breed specific.
If it is just a mixed breed, any general knowledge will be helpful.
