I have been grooming my GSD ...Storm almost daily for about twenty minutes and he still sheds like crazy Is this normal? Should I groom him more or what The birds like it I see them taking his hair away and making nests
My female has a thick/fine coat of fur and with it being summertime I'm grooming every other day, I'd do it everyday but time constraints don't always offer the opportunity to do it. Since I own more than one GS and they always love the grooming I do all of them even though the others might not need it.
we would use the vacumn on our dog, and she loved it. Or sit or the deck and take loads of fur
of her, and put it into the paper bag. That was way b4 all the tools they now do have. We thought,
if only we could make a warm winter coat with all her fur! Mostly I do think it was towards the end of summer we did it the most. Oh, and if I did wear black, meaga dog hair all over me.
Growing up, we had a female GSD. My mother had this rake tool that seemed to really get all of the loose undercoat off of her. I think it kind of felt like a massage to the dog - all you had to do was get the rake off the shelf and she would come running for her "spa session".
I groom my 2 GSDs every day, and it always looks like I never do it, thats how much fur is coming off right now ! They are both shedding like crazy. If I could make money off this I'd be rich, LOl.
I have sort of a rake like thing. I am glad to hear that other people spend plenty of time grooming...in fact I think I may go groom in a couple of minutes. I enjoy grooming as well
