They might be able to associate IP's in a location to phone calls from a location, but not to the person. I use comcast and my IP resets every three days like clockwork. The only way anyone can tell who is assigned to that IP is to force their records with a court order. This is just from the company that uses API as well, no one can track bank transactions without a court order.

Grow up. Everyone is spying, oops, collecting data, on everyone. It's INFORMATION and it's about the most precious commodity now.
That's why you do not sign any petitions, sign up for any surveys or lotto, or anything else at any store. Unlist your numbers and make sure you do not answer any calls you have no idea who they are from. And so on. Keep Google "location" shut and for good on your phones.
Oh, and btw. Sign up for Google voice number. Maybe Skype has same. Then, you can safely give it away to others. Save that number in contacts, and set custom ring tone to "none". Let them leave you message, and Google will text you transcript.

I recently signed up for a Google voice number - in a completely different state. I like being able to leave the phone ringer of my regular phone off and have Google take the calls. Even better, automated calls don't make it through the screening.
