Corporations have been a bane to mankind for hundreds of years.
Our forefathers mistrusted corporations as much as they did central banks and church controlled government. They had good reason.
Corporations need strict regulation and oversights to prevent the kinds of abuses we have seen devastate our economy and damage our jobs base.
Without this type of oversight we will see banksters and sleazy Wall St. criminals continue to exploit foreign and domestic assets further decimating living standards in the US and Europe while encouraging sweat shop slavery in 3rd world nations.

Yes, OP, we'd all be better off eating brush and berries, and clubbing animals for whatever additional nourishment we might need (sar).

Ok. So we don't have large corporations.

Have you ever worked for a small business? It;s not exactly a panacea. Either the small business cannot afford to adequately compensate their employees or the owner is so closely connected to the profit stream that he/she is too greedy to let chunks of it go.

I have friends in their mid 20's making 75k, 90k, and 110k with great benefits and perks. How many small business can afford to pay that?

Prior to the housing boom which was engineered by the banks and real estate industries, those wages were commonly made by carpenters, plumbers, electricians, and many more everyday professions in the building trades.
Prior to outsourcing many manufacturing jobs paid very well even in small and medium sized companies.
There is nothing inherent in the structure of a mega corporation that makes it more profitable or more fair than any other size business. In fact I would say in most cases the exact opposite is true.
What mega corporations do make possible is the kind of exploitation of government and resources that has resulted in the devastation of our jobs base, our economy, and our control over our own lives and government. Perhaps when you get a little older, you will have a more complete insight to the real picture.

I don't entirely disagree with you, but there are good corporations and bad corporations, just as there are good small businesses and bad small businesses.

it's important for us, as consumers, to do our best to avoid the bad corporations. unfortunately, we'll flock to whomever sells us the cheapest (priced) product, regardless of long term impact. We're a consumer society, i don't believe that's going to change any time soon.

Question - how do you connect to this great website?

Good post. There is no way to generalize either way. I work for a small business and earn an excellent salary. I think people are assuming all small businesses consist of 5 to 10 employees. A small business can consist of 400 employees are have great revenue streams.

The could dangle the carrot all they want but you use your noggin you wouldn't take it and be exploited
