They offered me to borrow money and become a slave of the system like you.
USA has nothing to offer nowadays , immigrants can no make a normal living in the USA. Most of my USA friends(immigrants in the past) are already broke and all complain about low salary. I didn't know , I thought USA was still a good country. My mistake. I dreamed too much apparently.

USA system was based on work, wages and consumption , but there is no good paid job anymore unless your join federal jobs but we (green card holders ) are not authorized to work for the Fed and rack up tax payer money. So pretty much we got it in the butt as a third class citizen (1.Fed 2.non fed 3. Legal immigrant 4.non legal)

Working as a taxy driver or as a fast food employee is not for Swiss people or European people. Switzerland is not so bad. They will renegotiate bilateral agreements with Europe as too many eu citizen try to come to Switzerland to get jobs.
Our USA citizen here in Switzerland work in banks or insurance and make lot of money. Most have decided to relinquished their USA passport against their Swiss passport(take 5 years) . Even a US guy said he will wipe his ass with his USA passport before going to the USA embassy. I was chocked when I heard these comments, but it s true.
Many have left their USA patriotism behind.

Sorry guys, USA has nothing to offer anymore to educated people in general. USA is attractive only to poor refugees like afghans, Africans.. Who will get free Obama care and food stamps.

I have simply returned my green card to avoid being screwed in the future . I didn't leave the USA, USA left me. Good luck to you with your kindergarten' politicians.

When immigrants came to America in the last two centuries they faced horrible challenges, often they suffered terribly and even lost their lives. The strong prevailed. I wouldn't move across town without knowing exactly what I was getting into, let alone across an ocean. That's on you. No internet in Switzerland?

If you entered America with the same level of qualifications as Switzerland requires, you would be doing just fine. Maybe the USA shouldn't let anyone in who doesn't have a job lined up either? One would have to assume that if you were competitive in your home country, you would not have left in the first place! It is not like you were fleeing oppression and poverty.

Good luck in Switzerland, don't forget your gloves!

You are complaining about police giving people tickets for speeding and running stop signs?

Plenty of foreign crap on Netflix.

Why does other peoples lifestyles bother you so much? This is how other people choose to live because it makes them happy.

Plenty of healthy selections of food available, too many cell phones? Seriously? You must just be one of those guys who are never happy about life and just spend your day complaining about random crap.

The docs fee is but a small part of a major medical bill. Hospital charges are the real biggie.

Default About Switzerland in general

Point of view from a Swiss alien. Not from me - from other aliens, though I don't use it to stereotype an entire nation... Stories of sexism and xenophobia in Switz... Last European country to grant women's right to vote - in the 1970's, some cantons in the 1980's... And are they really that welcoming to foreigners? Guns everywhere/bombs going off in the mountains at all hours (I know, mandatory military training for all males).

Late start to work day, followed by very long coffee breaks, followed by very long lunches, followed by early end of workday (I mean, how many hours can a person really work in a day?). And why can't one outfit be worn for one week straight, without laundering or deodorant? And what's wrong with lots of routine, rigidity, and checks and balances (e.g. mega paperwork to use the bathroom). So what if the mindset enables U.S., Asian companies to still bring Swiss technology to market faster than they can.

But really, really great skiing, chocolate, fondue, kirsch, winter carnival, language interpreters, and banking/financial criminal protections...Marzipan not so much... And I've heard they are overly cheap (they will repair a toothbrush, or a toothpick), judgmental, and overly obsessed with William Tell. But the next time I want to hide my millions from the tax collector, I'll be sure to book a flight to Zurich.

The above is not my opinion - just what I heard from aliens...

I wager that the new immigrant hasn't traveled much within the boundaries of the USA.

Many municipalities have organic grocers. All fast food joints in many states are required to post calorie, fat, etc. counts on the menu, not just on some booklet. Last I traveled to Paris, cafe's were not posting any of that information on their menus. Who's progressive now?

The USA has LOTS of fat people, true. Though if you travel around you'll notice that there's areas like say Kentucky which has a very high obesity rate, and others like WA, which has less. I won't surgarcoat it, Americans ARE fat. Most of it is a culture of convenience, the rest sounds a lot like the rest of the West. When I went to France, Italy, and especially Germany, many many things were commercialized and they were trying like mad to make you buy stuff you don't need. That's because it's a capitalism economy there, too, just with more elements of socialism than here. At least here we have choices, and if the choices people have been making is any indication, the USA is a place where you don't have to be fat; it's a choice. Who's progressive now?

I won't get into the healthcare side of things ... I'll just submit the USA is stuck in the stone ages due to "dur hurr gub'ment is BAD!" Tea Party terrorists and their ilk who like to utter f- your neighbor style anarchism from their pie holes.

Anyway, my point here is that despite being a commercial haven with a different approach to society and government management, it still works quite well, and I'll just say that whatever rock they came from to make these negative assertions I can come up with good examples to the contrary. The USA is still awesome and bad at the same time for one fact: people have choices. The one thing that I agree in principle with Tea Party terrorists is that I prefer choices over mandates (I just draw the distinction where said choices lead to crony corporations, i.e. the whole health care industry, er I mean, sickness management system ... can't have profits with cures now can we?).

I think while there is a financial incentive for the wealthy to leave, for the non wealthy just trying to hang on to what they have might be induced to bail for the following reasons -

The US has become a country of merchants and thieves:

The investment markets are gamed and you can't trust mutual funds, advisors or pension plans.

The doctors will bankrupt a person fixing a broken leg - half the bankruptcies are for medical bills.

A car in the shop is not a 'fix' but something you take 6 months to pay off on a credit card. Ponder $4000 transmission and a shop visit is a grand on a $3000 car.

Housing is about everyone from the appraisers to the bank to jump on the deal, get their cut, and no one owns a home, they just spend their whole lives paying it off, renting the land from the govt through prop taxes.

Cars, goods, anything you buy is disposable. Nobody works on anything, nothing is kept around. It's all based on getting you to buy in, upgrade continuously, nothing can be fixed.

It's a country of minimalls, movie theaters, and a culture of doing nothing - surf the net, pop in a movie, go to work, take your ambien, drink a beer, get up the next day, do it all over. Public schooling is about stretching out and industrializing a soul sucking tome of comformity and compliance, hardly preparing them for colleges, which have become nothing more then profit centers, leaving millions in debt they will never be able to pay off.

This is a society that is simply only interested in making a buck, watching tv, and simply being comfortable at everyone elses sake. You are hard pressed to find anyone here that just wants to do the right thing, for the right reasons, because it's the right thing to do. A country of money centrik apathetic nihlists have little room for transcending, doing more, getting better.
The problem is that the crooks at the top figured out how to keep the sheep busy fighting among themselves as the elites steal their productive assets. The problem originates with the rest of the world being too much of lapdogs and pusssies to tell the US NO. I can only hope that some other sovreign nations can stop being sissies and attack the US where it is weak- the Treasury bond market. Hey China, are you going to continue to be the sucker here? Russia, tell Putin to stop being soft and crash the dollar.

China has a very long way to go, but they have started. And Russia has recently failed. Without more openness of information and less capital controls both will continue to face a strong resistance of the entrenched USD. USD based crooks have been proven to be much more adept at crookedness.
