Hello, I am third year, business student from the University of Puerto Rico. As a class assignment we had to join various forums discussions to attain feedback on certain topics. My goal of joining this forum is to gain a broader point-of-view of challenging topics. For example, a topic I am curious about is related to the Triple Bottom Line (TBL) framework for sustainability accounting. Based on the idea that corporations should measure, calculate, audit and report their social and environmental obligations, TBL is a framework based on indicators that incorporates social, environmental and financial performance. Keeping in mind that many of these indicators are qualitative and not quantitative, is it fair to say that TBL a practical framework, or just a “catch phrase” to remind us that corporate performance is multi-dimensional?
