i love medicare and my supplement compared to when i was working and health insurance soared every year whether i got a raise or not .
And Medicare is typically much easier to use than private plans. While my wife was in the hospital recently, I had a lumbar RF nerve ablation done across town. Done within 2 weeks. And a melanoma removed from my upper back within 1 week. No fuss, insurance taken on the spot. I don't think I have any more related OOP expense.
Medicare Part B is optional, not required. If you're covered under another plan you don't need it.
That is a shrinking demographic because fewer people are retiring with medical/pension benefits ( what I understand)
And the other case would be that people are having to work longer--past 65--simply because they can't afford to retire and have to work and thus continue their health insurance via their employer if it was part of their benefits...

We have had the good/bad situation to pay the supplemental tax for Medicare since we turned 65--
That can be a big bite-and rates are going up
The only hope is that our tax profile will be lower because of tax plan...not something I really supported and don't know how/if we will benefit or not-
We always have to file a delayed/amended return because we need K1s and the company sends them about as late as they can...
Thanks. It was removed with clear margins. Prognosis is excellent!
I actually went in to the dermatologist for other lesions. This they found when looking me over. It was on my back where I can't see or reach or feel.
