Your own article points out it’s only $40 billion usd that they’re talking about swapping out.

And it points out the obvious of them being an oil state and a strategic “rival” of the United States.

The west would dump their rubles but….well lol.

My favorite part of the article is when the kremlin spokesman says there’s much concern about the dollar, but you can’t even see the ruble reserves on the chart I looked for because it’s lumped in with the “other” 2%, whereas the dollar is about 60%. People would drop their ruble reserves….if they existed.

And then it has 1 dollar is 73 rubles in parenthesis right after his comment for comedic relief.

About 15 years ago it was 1 to 20? Which currency has concerns?

It’s like Vanderbilt football telling Alabama that they’re going to stop going after the same 5 star recruits because they’re worried those players might not be good enough to live up to the standards of Vanderbilt football.

Maybe they should just stick with naval exercises by Pearl Harbor like they did a few weeks ago or flying nuclear bombers down the California coast on the forth of July like they did when Obama was president for their message sending.

Then Powell can take the last 3 rubles of reserves the u.s has out of his wallet and wipe his ass with them and call it operation Barbarossa.

I think I hear that comment on this forum about every week.

The days of the gold standard are gone.

I've been on the forum for over eleven years. The American dollar is about as strong against other currencies (or more so) than it was eleven years ago.

If you actually read the article you’re whole thesis is bunk;

Quote:
ST PETERSBURG (Reuters) - Russia on Thursday said it would ditch all U.S. dollar assets in its National Wealth Fund (NWF) and increase holdings in euros, Chinese yuan and gold in what analysts said was a political move ahead of a presidential Russia-U.S. summit later this month.
The Russia economy is trash. Wouldn’t be too bothered by it.

You should go have brunch with Taggerung and CBP2.

It would be great, maybe the three of you could predict how a meteorite is going to hit your table soon then sit there for years saying over and over it's about to happen while others come and go enjoying their meals.
