Of course, banks are always running rackets! I hate banks. I wish I could live without them, but since I am self employed I need them to cash my customers checks that they pay me with. I HATE BANKS!!!

Move your money to a credit union. Show the big commerical banks you won't stand for their fees anymore.

Then you need to find a Credit Union you can join. Some only require that you live in a certain area to qualify for membership. Others allow close relatives of members to join, so check with family to see if they are a CU member.

I belong to two, and I pay nothing in fees to one, a whopping $1 a month to the other, but I make more than that in interest on my checking balance so it's not a big deal.

A "for profit" bank has not seen a nickle of my money is decades, and I find that Credit Unions provide all the services I need. When I closed my last bank account at a "for profit" bank it saved me over $150 a year. Today I suspect my credit union membership is saving me $250 -350 a year in fees.
