Thought it would be interesting to get a breakdown of the personality types that frequent this section of CD. To keep it consistent, please focus on the Myers-Briggs personality test (I'll include links to a few, but you don't have to use those specific tests) and put your type in the poll.
INTP as well. I wonder if the J tends to turn to P over time?
NOYB is funny. FWIW, Myers-Briggs is not terribly deep or accurate, and is based on an interpretation of Jung, who was a figure that many people didn't care for. The tests are amusing, and really are more designed for personal growth feedback than interpersonal uses. I've grown a lot more intuitive and less judgmental over time, and I don't mind sharing that. Besides, if someone wants to think that a chickpea can be explained by a Myers-Briggs, let 'em have at.
I think there probably is a test somewhere out there to measure "old and cranky," Tightwad.

You figure it out. That's my standard response to questions like these. Yes, I know it's kind of silly.
But in an age where we both scream about "privacy" while simultaneously giving out all kinds of information freely about ourselves....
The irony isn't lost on me.
I always find it ironic when someone makes a specific point to tell everyone else that he/she refuses to participate in a thread.
The thread wasn't started to mine information from people here on the forum. The idea is to see if the forum is dominated by specific personality types and also to encourage discussion if people feel motivated to talk about anything related to the topic. If that somehow threatens your sense of privacy or well-being, move on. It's hardly worth getting worked up over.
Probably not surprising that a computer forum has a lot of introverts - the extraverts are out there interacting in "meat space" or whatever they are calling the opposite of "cyber space" these days.
I punched INTJ although the final J/P is usually close to a tie for me. For me, as an engineer, when I am gathering data I'm all P, but when I am trying to figure out what to do as a result of the data, I'm all J.
For that matter the introversion/extraversion for me really depends on who I am surrounded with. Over the last 50 years I have found the "general population" is just not good company for me, so I don't waste any more time interacting with them than I can help. But if you put me into one of my special interest groups, like the BMW technical conference they usually have in St. Louis every year, I am wandering around yakking it up - because these are people that I have things in common with.
