The truth about healthcare reform.
Your gross income WILL go up by the amount of insurance your employer paid for. So you’ll be required to pay taxes on a larger sum of money that you actually received; take the tax form you just finished and see what $10,000.00 or $15,000.00 additional gross income does to your tax debt. That's what you'll pay next year. For many it puts you into a much higher bracket. This is how the government is going to buy insurance for fifteen (15) percent that don't have insurance and it's only part of the tax increases, but it's not really a "tax increase" as such, it a redefinition of your taxable income.

Title IX Revenue Provisions—Subtitle A: Revenue Offset
"(Sec. 9002) Requires employers to include in the W-2 form of each employee the aggregate cost of applicable employer-sponsored group health coverage that is excludable from the employee's gross income (excluding the value of contributions to flexible spending arrangements)."

Looking at the Snopes write up it looks like you maybe need one that says:

I. R. gullible dumb-ass.

No fan of the Health Insurance Industry Scam foisted upon US -- it is certainly NOT Health Care for anyone, just intended as Insurance Payments from everyone -- but making up nonsense like this just makes the reich wangers look like dumb-asses.

Not like that is any great trick, either.

I wouldn't call it nonsense one bit. We've had mandatory health care here in Mass. for years now and guess what,it doesn't work,we're broke! Everyones premiums have increase substantially, mine went up 40% this year alone! This will be the death of the middle class and America and unless you're one of the ones who are in the lower 15%, you will end up paying through the nose for this. The only good part of this bill is the no pre-exixting conditions clause. It will be cheaper to pay the fines than it will be to afford health care insurance and if something happens you just get insurance because now they cannot deny you.

Premiums have been increasing across the nation.

Socialize the medical system and toss the rent seeking medical interests to the curb, but not that can't happen in America because we love freedom or other such nonsense.

Well of course cost to taxpayers will go up, that is a given.

But it will not only be in tax, that's only a small portion of the total outlay. All increased cost will trickle down. This bill was designed to benifit maybe 2% of the population only, while 98% will see increase costs and/or lower benifits in total.
Expect:
Inflationary cost from the increased deficit.
Businesses passing increased cost of business down to the consumers.
Health Care industries passing the 2.5% medical device tax down to consumers (I know this because I work in the industry, and our internal documents have confirmed this).
State and local governments passing on cost via user fees, state income taxes, or property taxes.
Services, in all sectors, will likewise be decreased.

You won't be able to buy a TV set without the cost not being impacted (increased) because of health care "reform".
