Is there anywhere in the US where teaching jobs are more plentiful?? I am certified to teach prek-3rd grade. I'm currently in NJ but would like to relocate somewhere else.
CO has a shortage of prek teachers. Here you must have your early childhood and special ed endorsements to teach prek. Usually applicants have just one and then have to work on the other.
Jobs are plentiful in private pre-schools/ daycare centers in most areas. The problem is that they do not pay a lot. Many schools have problems holding on to teachers because of the low pay. Many NYC public schools are adding pre-school classes. My school added another pre-k class last year. I hear this is an increasing trend. A few years ago, full day pre-school in the public schools was not very common. There may be an increased need in pre-k soon. Good luck.
