Well, they're good at math and science because they study. They know it's expected of them and they do it. It was somewhat that way for me when I was in school. I never knew that NOT succeeding was an option. Today that has changed significantly, let me tell you.
Just for fun, look up the winners of national (US) spelling bees, geography bees, all manner of tests and competitions that show off hard work in the studying department. You'll see an inordinate (perhaps) number of Asian and Indian names among the winners. Why? Because they studied, which many of us have made an option for kids because they have so many toys and they want to do other things.

Times have changed. Sure, there are still Asian students going for all those high paying fields, but, it's not like that anymore. >D There's a lot of Asian students going into the arts (and I was one of them). But, bah... I switched major into literature! Mwahahaha..
But fewer Asian student succeed in Liberal Arts Subjects.
Do you think it is genetic difference?
It really has little to do with genetics, Asians just happens to priorities and place great importance on foundation subjects such as Maths.
