Well, they're good at math and science because they study. They know it's expected of them and they do it. It was somewhat that way for me when I was in school. I never knew that NOT succeeding was an option. Today that has changed significantly, let me tell you.

Just for fun, look up the winners of national (US) spelling bees, geography bees, all manner of tests and competitions that show off hard work in the studying department. You'll see an inordinate (perhaps) number of Asian and Indian names among the winners. Why? Because they studied, which many of us have made an option for kids because they have so many toys and they want to do other things.

About the liberal arts, you'll have to say more about what you mean.

It's primarily a cultural thing. I know a lot of Asian students that love liberal arts, it's just that their parents don't.

Asians are very good at Music which is a liberal art

Science, Math, and Music, and basketball are held in high esteem by Oriental parents

Asians also dish out some mean punishment on their kids if they are not trying hard enough

It is the mentality of the Orient

I said basketball because lots of asian parents think playing basketball will make their kids taller LOLZ

Times have changed. Sure, there are still Asian students going for all those high paying fields, but, it's not like that anymore. >D There's a lot of Asian students going into the arts (and I was one of them). But, bah... I switched major into literature! Mwahahaha..

asian kids are expected to study and do well. To do less is a disgrace to their families.

It really has little to do with genetics, Asians just happens to priorities and place great importance on foundation subjects such as Maths.
