...and I have to admit that many of the stories I've heard about the place aren't true!

OK, sure it has its issues, what large city doesn't; but for the most part I had a great stay and ate some excellent Mexican food!

I am sure envious of the weather out there, much less humid that San Antonio; and while I didn't have time to see a lot of the city, we did get a chance to drive over Trains Mountain Road and stopped on the Scenic Drive overlook at night for a wonderful view of the two cities!

And Carlos & Mickey's was an excellent choice for lunch!

I hope to get back to EP soon, I thoroughly enjoyed my first time there!

Cheers! M2

And I meant to say Trans Mountain Road, not Trains!

Glad you enjoyed it.

Still cannot understand how anyone could enjoy Carlos and Micky's though.

I might come up on military orders to move to El Paso. I've visited once, I have a friend who is a professor at UTEP, and we only had lunch so I didn't stay long.

Overall, the area looks nice. The low humidity appeals a lot to me.

The availability of Mexican food will be the end of me, I love Mexican food and previously living in Chicago, I was spoiled by great Mexican food.
