WASHINGTON — Fred Thompson gained an image as a tough-minded investigative counsel for the Senate Watergate committee. Yet President Nixon and his top aides viewed the fellow Republican as a willing, if not too bright, ally, according to White House tapes.

Um, yeah, you really gotta worry when that bastion of liberal media - FOXNEWS reports something bad about a Republican...
You do realize that Fox news is balanced and yes they do report bad things about republicans and democrats alike.
The source of the story is the associated press they are a "bastion of liberal media" and I guess they consider the story to be something bad about Thompson.

Come on Sprinter! I know you're too smart to actually believe they are balanced.
What do you think of the point of the thread? Do you think it is okay for Thompson to have tipped off the WH that the committee knew about the tapes?
I would rather have an undead Nixon president, than Thompson. Nixon was a far better president than he is typically credited. He's barely even Republican, by today's Republican standards (he actually knew the definition of diplomacy).
