Is there anyone who is not on the national news media's radar screen as a presidential candidate that you think might run for POTUS in 2012?

Senator Jim DeMint, former New Mexico governor Gary Johnson, and former UN ambassador John Bolton are just a few that have been mentioned. Then there is Donald Trump, although really do not think that he is seriously going to seek the office.

Jim DeMint comes to mind
Gary Johnson, but I don't think he could come close to getting the nomination
I love the idea of Mitch Daniels
Hubby likes Paul Ryan
Rubio would be great, but it is too soon I think for him
Christie has said, no, for now anyway.

Of course most every Republican in the country that has ever held an office is being mentioned by the press and the libs say, these guys and gals are doing the talking, claiming they might run: In most cases, I say: BULL!! Most have not given any indication.

Considered a rising star, yes, too soon. He has been mentioned as a possible VP choice in 2012, but even that could be rushing things. Assuming the GOP retakes the presidency and holds it for two terms, his best choice would be to make a mark for himself in the Senate, and then bid for the top spot in 2020.

I think it's a good possibility that Mike Pence is considering it.

From my viewpoint, the stealth candidate is Gary Johnson. He has appeal to fiscal conservatives and those on the libertarian side, although he may not resonate as well with social conservatives. Mike Pence would be great, but he may not satisfy the stealth part as he's quite prominent. My preferred candidate is Chris Christie and I HATE it when he firmly says he's not going to run. He tends to be a man of his word, so it looks like he won't be running. Mitch Daniels and Pawlenty are very good candidates as well (esp Daniels).

Both Pence and DeMint had their own segments on Fox News' 12 in 2012 series run for 13 days during Bret Baier's show so they are on the media's radar screen. Johnson did not have his own segment.

Why would Rubio be a good candidate? Why would he be a good candidate after 6 years in the Senate? His resume looks as light as Obama's, Hillary's and McCain's. Has he ever run a business, a state, a large city?
