Because it is MY property and I can choose who I want to live there. All you have to do is give a reason not defined by race.

Technically, they should be able to. I would hope they'd immediately have no business whatsoever because people would boycott them. But they do have the right to be ignorant if they want.

Not a good reason for the post you responded to. Besides, your property happens to be in a society and you break the rules, you suffer the consequences while I smile at your suffering.

^ this

The tenant to be could never prove that you're denying them for that reason. No rational person would discriminate purely on race though, and the irrational ones will basically reduce their liable tenant pool.

dennys got hit with a 700,000 dollar lawsuit for refusing service to black officers in the early 90s.

you can find that anywhere on the net.

they still haven't recovered after that almost 20 years later.

i find it funny now how they make sure they have blacks in there commercials now.

dennys is a perfect example of practicing racism by refusal of service, people making noise about it, and dennys being put in there place from all the negative PR.

no serious company is going to have a no anything sign, which is why i kind of agree with paul.

but things are much different now then in the 1960's.

the law was needed in the 60's, since a majority of establishments refused to do business with blacks. it wasn't just 1 or 2 here or there, it was a majority.

Amazing. You come here from a million miles away, and now you wanna strip away an act that offers protection to people who were here long before you arrived? Because it's not "constitutional" in your opinion? And because you wish to "offend" a race of people that you don't like but are actual natives of this country as opposed to YOU?

This is getting good.

Who's going to be able to prove it, since the tenant applicants won't know each other?

Aahh...the sweet stench of stereotyping!!!...

So the renting of apartments to minorities is synonymous with property destruction... O.K.

Minority employees are synonymous with terrible employees and discrimination lawsuits...

You are correct this nonsense has to stop!!!...

If any establishment that is getting ANY tax breaks or services from the government whatsoever should not be allowed to pick and choose who they will provide service for. So if the place burns down or gets robbed or vandalized......oh well tooo bad.

If it is my property, I can rent to whom ever I want to. There is NO law that says I can't do that. There only laws that say you can't deny someone becuase of race. Deny them for other reasons and you'll be fine.
