I am an evangelical Christian, and I like Bachmann so far because of her faith in Christ and the way that she wears it on her sleeve. It's still REALLY early, but in my opinion, Rep. Bachmann seems like the best candidate so far -- that can change as the election progresses.
I never, ever thought I'd be on a thread supporting Michele Bachmann! I used to be a strong liberal, bordering on socialist. I've debated conservatives on this forum, trying to strike down what I saw as the "lunacy of conservatism." However, as I have grown in my relationship with Christ, I see that the conservative side best represents Biblical values. I have walked the tightrope between liberalism and orthodox Christianity for years, but recently I came to a point where I knew that I either had to reinterpret my politics or my faith. I decided to reinterpret my politics and cling to my faith in Christ, and I know I made the right choice.

And you Obamabots aren't? You support a guy that has tripled the deficit in less than three years and believes that we can spend our way outta debt. As long as he's got a (D) after his name you will support him, regardless of how bad he is destroying the country. Your Marxist professors at Penn State brainwashed you and Obummer has continued to do the job. Hope you buy your Kool-Aid at Costco.
This one is a head scratcher. True Christianity is much more compatible with modern day liberal politics than with conservative ones.

As far as Christianity goes-- why not support Ron Paul?
Michelle Bachman is for not for freedom of religion-- while Ron Paul is. This would allow prayer in classroom and schools... which I think would appeal to conservative christians...

I agree, to some extent. I like the liberals' concern for the poor and needy, as well as their propensity towards nonviolence, non-war and mercy in justice. However, they also promote the sinful actions of homosexuality and abortion, and they also suppress public expressions of Christian faith such as prayer in schools and teaching intelligent design. Additionally, liberals tend to oppose Christian morality in a general sense, while conservatives -- at least publicly -- tend to support it. Liberals are far more likely to say that this is a pluralistic nation, rather than one rooted in Christian principles.
Personally, I'm not completely 'conservative' or 'liberal,' but I think liberalism is further from the Biblical ideal than conservatism, which is why I choose to vote for conservative candidates (although I wouldn't rule out voting for a Democrat). I admire Michele Bachmann's committed Christian faith and passion for the pro-life and pro-marriage causes, which are the primary reasons why I like her as a candidate. I disagree with her stances on foreign policy and healthcare, but no candidate is perfect.

I don't support "freedom of religion," at least not in the sense that most Americans use the term. I support government based on Christian principles. Not an official state religion like medieval Europe, but a government that seeks to enact policies based on the commands of God as found in the Bible.

lol... you have no idea what you're talking about. I don't think Obama is a great president. He is okay, but not great. He is certainly better than any alternative from the Republican Party. A party does not currently exist for the vast majority of positions I hold. To me, as long as they aren't a Republican or aren't a social conservative, I can support them. I've voted for Libertarians, even.
I support Obama because the Republicans provide no real alternative solutions. The House and Tea Party governors have proven this by focusing on social conservative agendas instead of improving the job markets.
Also lol @ "Marxist Professors at Penn State". That is just pure hatred of education with no real intelligence to back it up. If you had any inkling at how Penn State... or other universities... actually worked, you wouldn't be saying such things.

This... however, the conservative machine has managed to twist Christianity so badly it has brainwashed gullible people into believing that individualism is something Jesus triumphed.
