Is Fred Thompson still running?

I'm not shocked Tommy Thompson stopped running. I've never even heard of him. Wasn't he a novelist who wrote true crime books?

Has he officially started running yet?

I'm not surprised Tommy Thompson quit; I was just surprised that he got into it in the first place. He stated that he wanted to be the reliable conservative in the race, but with Rudy and Mitt leading the polls, it's obvious the voters don't want the most conservative candidates (no matter how hard Mitt tries to pretend he's flipped).

He acknowledged he would likely drop out if not finishing in the top 3 in Iowa.
