No, that's being taken care of by Obama as we speak.

Ron Paul is closer to Romney's numbers than Romney is to Perry's numbers so Romney also has to watch out for who is nipping at his heels.

The rest of the candidates are here (second chart down on page):

Tea Party Supporters Backing Perry for GOP Nomination

I find it odd that Perry would poll that much higher on the issues mentioned, not that I don't think he would be effective in those areas, but I think most of the candidates would be.

The really interesting thing about that poll is that among those that do not support the Tea Party, Romney is leading Perry, which tells me that he would also lead Perry among independents and swing voters. In recent years, more voters identify themselves as independent than ever before.

NO Thank You!

Ron Paul is the real deal
Perry is another Neocon.
I agree with you on Perry 100% he is the double down candidate of neoconservativism. If he is elected, heaven forbid, I full expect to see us start marching down the road of increased corporate domination of politics in everything from immigration to taxes, increased global interventionism, and a full scale on assault on civil liberties and Constitutional rights.

Being naive and easily misled are common traits for the lower intelligence group of the republicans. They will back anyone with an (R) next to their name without question, especially whomever fox tells them to. Just looks back a few months ago where Trump was their superstar

I honestly believe the voters will REALIZE that shortly.
The right wingers don't care in the slightest. As long as the (R) is there, they can commit war crimes, break geneva convention laws, send us troops to die in a false war, lie to congress and the american people, send the country to the brink of complete collapse for their own personal gains,.... Still it's all A-OK as long as that (R) is there...

You shouldn't even get a crack at the job without executive experience. The White House shouldn't be the first stop for people who have never run anything big. Take a look at the East Coast governors and mayors yesterday, with Hurricane Irene. Could you imagine Representatives and Senators doing that? Mobilizing resources needed? Coordinating with agencies, federal and local. Issuing instructions for their populations? Making life or death decisions? The Senators and Reps would form a committee and try to get a consensus before they told people to get the h*ll off the beach. The storm would be over before they made a decision and the decision would come in a 1000 page press release. Yet we think these people are qualified for President?

Good point. Not to worry, though, the last time a sitting member of the House of Representatives became president was in 1880. The last senator to become president was obviously Obama, but we've seen how that went and congress is now at an all-time low in approval ratings. 2008 was the year of the senator, with Hillary, Obama, and McCain all being congressmembers when they ran. 2012 looks to be much different.

Laura, the president shouldn't have to be concerned about anything more that what is laid out in the Constitution. The only "department" they should be worrying about is the department of Defense. There shouldn't even BE any of all the other myriads of departments. The states should be able to handle their own disasters on their own.

Just LOOK at what a LOUSY job the Federal Government did with Hurricane Katrina! Look at what a Lousy job the Federal Government is doing with airport Security and we are paying TONS of tax dollars for this. It is NOTHING BUT A BIG FAT WASTE OF TAXPAYERS' MONEY considering all we get for it is more INTRUSION by the GOVERNMENT into our lives!!!!!

How can anyone support Rick Perry?

What has he done? Honestly, how has helped the Texas economy?

I live in Texas, and I'll be the first to tell you that Rick Perry doesn't do anything in this state. In a strongly conservative state he is a very hated individual.

Rick Perry hasn't run anything.

Unless you think getting the job handed to him in Texas, then taking naps for 10 years is running something...

Oh wait, he prayed for rain once. There-- that is his biggest accomplishment.

Please thank the oil and gas industry for Texas's great economy. This has nothing to do with Rick Perry. Seriously, do some actual research on Perry and the Texas economy and tell me where I'm wrong.
