Ron Paul is indeed gaining. Even the liberal Boston Globe deigned to publish and article about it.

Add this to a near tie for first place with with Bachman who bought 4000 of her votes. Also add this to WINNING the straw poll in CA the largest state in the Union. Add that to the fact that Tx cancelled their straw poll for fear that Ron Paul would win that one too and make Perry look bad.

Ron Paul is hardly the "fringe" candidate that the Boston Globe would like to think he is.

Few things to point out

1. Yes Paul is 2nd, but he is in 2nd by 27 points. Romney is at 41% Paul is 2nd at 14% and Huntsman at 10% to round out the top 3.

2. As 2008 straw plls showed, it means little.

3. Its not exactly a surprise Perry is doing poorly in New Hampshire. The far right social conservative base which has an enormous amount of sway within the national Republican Party doesn't exist in N.H. So someone like Perry, who is to the far right of the far right on social issues is not exactly going to play very well in N.H

I think in the primaries it will be a lot closer. I think Ron Paul handily winning most of the polls after the debates and also winning the others but not by as much, shows a trend that more and more people are deciding he is best for the country.

If he is the nominee he could beat Obama in a debate with 80% of his brain tied behind his back (and Obama knows it).

If the GOP knows what is good for them and they want to win this election they better start letting Paul get his message out and be APPRECIATIVE about it. He is the only one with an excellent grasp on ALL of the issues.

Romney has 41% of the vote so the rest is just really divided up in small percentages. Also, once again you people are making me defend Rick Perry and I don't like it. Since the TX straw poll was cancelled back at the beginning of June due to lack of interest, how can you blame Rick Perry? This was before he announced his run. Romney and Bachmann both stated they did not intend to participate in this. Romney is not paying for votes in any straw poll that i am aware of this time. You can't say this was cancelled because of Rick Perry.

Ron Paul has not led in any Scientific polling. He has led in straw polls (which he also did in 2008 and that got him nowhere, and he has led in the online polls (again he did that in 08), but of course online polls are meaningless, non-Scientific and can easily get spammed
