With the recent rise in the potential of Newt Gingrich to win the Republican nomination perhaps there is after all at least half a collective brain in the collective mind of this great country.
I always knew that Newt had what it takes ,(maybe the only one that has what it takes), to lead this country out of this quagmire. I didn't really think the Amerian people due to the complete collective ignorance of electing Obama, had the discernment to recognize the superior intellect and leadership ability of Newt.
Is there anyone here that doubts that a head on debate between Newt and Obama would make Obama look like an understudy of Rick Perry?

Here we go again. Almost every candidate has had cheerleaders here predicting the wiping of the floor. At least you all provide entertainment.

If Gingrich got the nod for nom, all that'd have to be done is remind America of his time in Congress, and he would lose independents and many women who don't like his style of bombastic politics.

If I had to pick a Republican to lead, it would be Ron Paul ... by a HUGE margin. However, if I had to pick a second Republican, it would be Newt. He has an absolutely rotten character -- not much moral fiber in there. However, he's a smart man who takes a pragmatic, not ideological, approach to problems. That's very rare to find in the "grand" OLD party these days. I think the Tea Party morons would be screaming RINO, RINO a week into Newt's presidency because he would do something to **** the bankers off and they would crank up the old propanda machine to smear him and weaken his power. They need a spineless jerk, a Romney, in the "so-called" driver's seat if they are going to steer this country where they want it to go .... to the meathouse where it can be carved up like so much meat for them to gorge themselves on. Newt seems to actually care about the country.

So what are you saying? The country needs a president that is not free of sex scandals?

I don't see Newt winning the election right now, but there's no question that this guy has staying power, which Herman Cain and some of the other hopefuls do not. We'll be talking about Newt in the spring. He has the name. He has a campaign that's on a roll, and I bet his former aides feel pretty dumb knowing they bailed on Newt to support a guy who can't even remember which agencies he wants to shut down.

That said, I won't count Perry out just yet. He might pull off the great turnaround, and he still has time. But increasingly, with each new debate and televised performance, he just looks more and more like a rookie punt returner who can't field a punt and ends up fumbling on his own 5-yard line. I think one more of these, and he's finished. He needs a big jolt in his next round of performances.
