They might have reservations about the Republican candidates, but the majority of Americans still want President Barack Obama out of office, according to a new poll conducted by the Associated Press and Gfk Roper Public Affairs and Corporate Communications. That’s a first in the poll’s Obama-tracking history.
Specifically, 52 percent of those polled said Obama should be voted out, while just 43 percent said he deserves to be reelected. That’s almost a perfect inversion of the numbers from last May, when 53 percent said he should be reelected and 43 percent said he should be ousted.
Dream on! When the question is framed as a referendum on Obama, Obama does not do well. When it is framed as a choice between Obama and any other Republican in the running, Obama wins or pulls even in most polls. The economy is improving and the improvement will be obvious a year from now to everyone. The Republicans candidates are looking less attractive every day and the dems have over a billion dollars to smear whomever the rep candidate is. Improved economy, weak opposition = Obama takes it.
There are enlightened factions on both sides of the political spectrum that want Obama out. They are called Ron Paul supporters.
We also recognize a vote for Gingrich, Romney, Bachman et al. is just the same as another term for Obama.
We shall see what the American people really say when there are only two candidates and the REAL poll is taken
I would vote for a sock monkey before voting for Obama.
The problem is, some (but not all) of the opposition candidates are not quite as attractive as a sock monkey.
Divided government has typically served us better than government unified under the control of either party. Obama would be a much better president with an opposition-controlled congress and senate.
