MANCHESTER, N.H. — Bring out the big-boy diapers. Newt Gingrich is throwing another tantrum, but instead of trashing the federal government, he’s trashing Mitt Romney — and damaging the GOP’s hopes of taking back the White House.

Gingrich, despite sinking in the polls, is going nuclear on the former Massachusetts governor on the eve of the New Hampshire primary, and now it looks personal. Gingrich, dubbed “Crybaby” by the media for his ego-driven antics as House speaker in 1995, is now performing in “Crybaby, the Sequel.”

It wouldn't be the first time that Gingrich has cost his party by throwing a temper tantrum. Look at how many seats they lost when he shut down the government because he didn't like his seat on the plane.

As much as I mistrust Romney, I gotta agree about Newt's character here. He knows he is not going to win, but he will take down Romney and Paul along with him if he can. Watch out for his attack on Paul next. He just got a $5 million dollar lease of life.

This is true.

He should go back to writing history books.

Gingrich is likely one of the best candidates running to be president, and it would really be a shame to see the GOP turn their backs on him. I think Santorum should drop out ( if he is really a 20yr friend to Gingrich as said) and let the rest of the candidates continue their campaign.

It's the first bit of history Newt's discussed that's actually correct, so there's a first for everything. Ted Kennedy used the Gordon Gekko argument against Mitt when he ran against him back in '94. It's effective because it's accurate.

How is it different than what was done to him in Iowa?

Approximately 75% of voters don't want Romney. Newt Gingrich is one of them.

How is Newt's attacking Romney going to take the GOP down? You at as if Romney and the GOP were synonymous ... This is what competeting candidates do when running for election, they sell themselves and seek to show the weaknesses and corruption of the other candidates ... You act as if Romney should somehow be immune to this ... Being in the lead he should only expect this and more of it, and so should the OP.

Newt isn't necessarily attacking the free markets, as much as he is attacking the corporate greed that sells American jobs for foreign jobs at a lesser wage. Why are all the companies moving their business over seas? Romney supports the very things that are behind this, and he profits from it.

And so many people claimed that Newt had changed. This is the same old Newt that shutdown the government knowing that it would damage his own party. You can always count on Newt to look out for himself, the man has no principles. Newt is realizing that this was his last chance and that he will never be President or anything more than a paid Fox contributor. His ego is not going to let him do the classy thing and just bow out of the race. He is going to make sure that if he isn't going to be the next President that none of his GOP rivals will be either.
