Both of these. Cain's was more sleazy IMO. Newt's are more run of the mill regular old cheating.
Also Cain lied about it initially even though he had sexual harrassment claims.
The other two reasons I believe factor in (one of which won't be liked but is still relevant and was alluded to earlier is this thread) are the fact that Gingrich is a career politician and knew what to say (the religious angle) to play to the hearts of his supporters and Cain was a black man harrassing white women and many people do not like to see black men with white women, especially black men sexually harrassing black women.
It's not regular ol'cheating when you serve divorce papers to wife#1 while she has cancer 'because life is short', and wife#2 after she was diagnosed with MS, wanted open relationship (he already had a mistress), and hinted that because of her MS she is no longer a commodity to his political career. One of them (don't remember which) was also given divorce papers on mothers day I believe.

would you do a little checking? It is unclean as to whether first wife had cancer, it seems many are saying she had a tumor removed but it was not cancer and the second wife had a condition that could lead to MS, not MS plus wife number 1 is the one who wanted the divorce.
Let me make this very clear, I am not excusing his affairs, but I think there is enough blame to go around and neither wife was just an innocent bystander. One had an affair with him while he was still in high school and she was his teacher, the other was sleeping with him, knowing he was still married.
I cant stand either one of them, but Cain was dumb, Newt is smart, the problem is, he thinks he is smarter than everyone else, so he comes off as a smug sob...
I can't understand this one so I'll leave the answering up to conservatives on this board-- especially the ones that left Cain after his revelations and are now full-on Newt Gingrich supporters.
It's obvious. Because Cain is a black, there was no way that the bigoted GOP would ever have him as its nominee or even on the ticket. They had to get him out of there, and infidelity was a way they could do it.
As a white male, Newt fits 98% of the criteria that the GOP requires for being a presidential candidate. He's the John Edwards of the GOP, but this doesn't matter.

That pretty much sums it up, and yet if it were a white man sexually harassing asian/latino woman, that would still pass and be considered void.
Newt said he found Jesus, Cain did not. In the eyes of the far right that's all that is needed, plus Newt is a frothing at the mouth, loudmouth which right wingers love as well.
Cain is not only a professed Christian but he is a minister. It seems like a double standard to me and I have wondered about it myself. At least Cain, is somewhat likeable.
Cain is Black, Newt is not. simple as that. The racist GOP likes token blacks like Watts, but never for the White House. After all, they don't call it the "White" House for nothing.

it wasn't the Christian White that ruined him: anything but, it was the media and by that I mean the left wing media. The only part you got right, is the part about a black Republican. The left can't stand them...
