The fact that 3/4 of Catholic colleges, including law schools, have contraceptives as part of their health insurance underscores this non-issue.

Once again, it's just part of the right-wing noise machine's relentless attack on Obama. "If Obama does it, it must be bad," -- even if was originally our idea.
Which is different from the liberal screeching - "if religions support it, it must not only be bad, but must be stopped at all costs."

You honestly believe Snowe is a conservative? She may have an R after her name, but that means little, given her voting record.

Right, right. That's why he capitulated and had to walk it back.

Will the administration’s controversial contraception ruling drive Catholics away from President Obama?
If it does, he is GONE.

Obama’s outreach to the faithful during the 2008 campaign—unprecedented for a Democratic candidate—paid off.
Duped them pretty good, didn't he?

With strong support from minorities, Obama beat McCain by 9 percentage points among Catholics (who favored George W. Bush over Kerry by 5 points in 2004) and made smaller inroads among evangelicals such as Hunter.
To those who say the Catholic vote doesn't matter..... I hope you keep thinking this way.

Obviously, obama knows it does.

How exactly did he walk back?

If Catholic hospitals provide their employees with healthcare in the United States, it will pay for contraception.

I like how Republicans are trying to play the "he capitulated" when he really he did no such thing. LOL.

Dance puppets dance.

His "compromise" is a lie. The lawsuits will go forward, I'm sure.

Again, you miss the point. obama doesn't have the authority to usurp the constitution, which he is trying to do.

If you think HE thinks he came out ahead on this issue, you haven't been reading or listening much over the last day and a half.

He has the authority because of precedents set by previous administrations and congress.

I just think we should do away with all of this crap and if something needs be done on healthcare, amend the constitution.

But that isn't going to happen because Americans will never see anyone go without healthcare, even Reagan passed that law in 86, the Republican King if you will.

Amending the Constitution to address health care is insane.

Ever hear of laws?

What precedents EXACTLY?

Like the case he just lost at SCOTUS where he tried to define what constitutes a religious employee?

Specify.

Why? Laws can be unconstitutional, its the reason the Supreme court exists.
