Not surprising after what Romney said about letting GM failed. Plus, outsdie of Oakland, MI, Romeny was never that popular there.

Santorum didn't support the auto bailout either. As a Michigander I think both are DOA in the general.

The election is a long way off...
Romney cares nothing about Detroit imo. Therefore his "son of Detroit" PR campaign comes off as pretty phony or desperate.
Also, how many people really remember his dad and would vote for Junior based on that?

you have a good point, his dad hasn't been on the scene for a heck of a long time. This doesn't mean Romney will not win in Nov if he gets the nomination, but I don't imagine Mich is a state that everyone thought was in the bag for Republicans. I will say it again, we are all putting way to much into the polls right now. A lot can happen between now and Nov and we don't have a GOP candidate yet.

This is probably going to hurt not just in Michigan, but also in WI, OH, etc. Going into those places and trying to defend attacks on the auto bailout is going to be very tough.

The pols that are Obama vs. a particular nominee are not accurate until the GOP chooses their candidate and here is why:
If (for example) a Romney supporting republican is polled as to who she wants to win between Santorum and Obama they are likely to say Obama to make it seem like Romney is the candidate with a better chance to beat Obama. But in the elction that republican will vote for Santorum against Obama for sure.

Flip-Flop Romney has claimed 4 states as his homestates: Mass, NH, Michigan, and California.

And Obama is beating him in all 4! LMAO!!
