I've heard more speculation about Blue States seceding.
That would make sense. The red states, when averaged, receive far more from the Federal government than the amount they contribute to it.

I think you are right about this. Southerners and red staters are generally very patriotic and pro-American. The liberal blue staters generally have a disdain for everything about our country and our history and are more likely to support secession than the red states are. I believe there is or has been a movement in the bay area in California for secession. I could see a liberal United Socialist States of America splitting from this country, either joining the European Union or modeling their form of government after European socialist nations. New England, possibly New York, along with the Pacific Northwest and Northern California would probably be the areas that would secede.

This is complete BS. Liberals cherish their liberty just as much as conservatives, and are equally patriotic and pro-American. They do not have disdain for America, and know more about our history than most conservatives.

While liberals and conservatives disagree on some political philosophies, do not think they are not a fully American as conservatives. We all swear the same oaths, salute and celebrate the same flag and patriotic holidays, and share the same costs of freedom in blood and treasure.

To say different is stupidity at it's highest.

Do you think its possible the Red States especially the South could declare succession and start the 2nd civil war in this country?
States that could do that include. Texas/South/North Carolina/Tennessee/Flordia/Georgia/Alabama/Mississippi/Arkansas/Virginia/Oklahoma/Kansas/Nebraska/North/South Dakota/Utah/Idaho/Montana/Indiana/Kentucky/Ohio/Arizona are all red states that could potentially join along.

Do you think this could happen in response to the ever increasing Bureacracy of Washington?
It seems like were losing our Freedoms left and right.
Now the internet could be turned off this summer etc.

What is it with some of you people and succession? Do you honestly expect anyone to take you seriously when you come up with stuff like this?

For the record, promoting succession is also TREASON.

If that happened...I would pack up and move south and support sucession.

Grant me rights, I already had???

That means they were restricted, or taken at some point in history.

Hmmm?
More freedom for you at the cost of less freedom to someone else, is not freedom at all. That is slavery.

I've thought about that question. If the South wanted to secede, I think Obama would be more than happy to let the South go. Not much love lost on either side. But if the South did leave, I think the US would swoop down and get all it's military bases out of the South and complete the wall around Texas. Then look for Mexico to invade and take back Texas with the blessing of the United States government.

Why would Canada want you?

No. The price that was paid by the Civil War was too heavy. Another will not happen in any of our lifetimes.

This is not to say that a class revolt against the rich and powerful will not happen. It has, several times, since the Civil War, in states all over the union, most often in many states at the same time. They have been bloody in the past as well, but never anywhere as close to the Civil War in violence.

Our union will remain intact as long as the United States of America remains. The European model does not hold here, and never has since our independence. 150 years later, all of the European nations have changed from what they were back then as governments, but we have not, and we shall not in the future.
