Can you imagine how much mileage FOX, et al. would have gotten out of this if anything similar (had) turned up about Mr. Obama?
We would have threads for days.
Have to say it doesn't really surprise me.
Hey, maybe his wife really means it when she says he was 'wild and crazy.'
Of course the media would never find anything about Obama. We don't even know anything about his college days, his transcripts, writings, medical records...
Man, you missed my point. I wasn't suggesting Jackass as model behavior, obviously. I'm not an idiot. The main point I've been trying to make from the beginning is that EVERYONE does STUPID stuff in high school. Teenagers are idiots. Almost all of them. Including me, when I was a teenager. The fact that I'm still alive is mind numbing. What teenage Romney and Obama did in high school is totally irrelevant to this election, and this is just a partisan distraction. And it's really convenient that the guy who got his feelings hurt by Romney in the 60's waited until the 2012 election to make this public. If messing with your classmates was really an assault, half of us would still be in jail. Just trying to offer a slightly more balanced perspective on a sensationalized media article. The end.
I have five teenage boys, so I know a little about boys and high school. Every kid does stupid stuff, but they don't all do mean stuff. Taking the clippers to the back of a friend's hair is stupid. Holding a kid down who is NOT your friend and cutting his hair is mean. Playing tricks on a blind teacher isn't being stupid--it's being really mean. Yelling "atta girl" when an effeminate male classmate answers a question in class isn't stupid--it's mean. By the time you're a senior in high school, your values and character are pretty well in place. I wouldn't put too much emphasis on this if it was an isolated incident, but it's not. It's one more piece in a puzzle that concerns me, like the time he told the woman at a fundraiser that she must have brought the cookies from 711--who SAYS something like that? At first I thought he was just dorky and tone deaf, but now I'm not so sure that there's not more to it, and I don't like what I'm hearing.
So I'm anti-bullying and no fan of Romney, and the event as described sounds pretty nasty. However, I think it is a mistake to look at things that occurred several decades ago through today's lens. Not that bullying or hazing or any of that is ever right, no matter what the time in history, but I also don't think it is fair to apply today's standards retroactively. JMHO.
Events like this are windows into what is in someone's head. Seems that he doesn't respect the people around him.

This is going to be a really funny election, guys like Jay Leno are going to have a field day this year.
The Democratic spin machine just might spin itself out of control this cycle.
lol, yeah what is next? Didn't we just get thru a news cycle or two on a 6 year old Obama being served dog by his dad???
What is the difference, Obama didn't make that choice, mittens did chose to bully and assault a gay boy,

You continue to push outright lies. White was not one of the five sources the WaPo used.

The incident was recalled similarly by five students, who gave their accounts independently of one another. Four of them — Friedemann, now a dentist; Phillip Maxwell, a lawyer; Thomas Buford, a retired prosecutor; and David Seed, a retired principal — spoke on the record. Another former student who witnessed the incident asked not to be named. The men have differing political affiliations, although they mostly lean Democratic. Buford volunteered for Barack Obama’s campaign in 2008. Seed, a registered independent, has served as a Republican county chairman in Michigan. All of them said that politics in no way colored their recollections.
Most of the wealthy elites turn out to be Democrat liberals with no tolerance, so maybe as a kid Mitt was with liberals before and he changed. Good for him, not that a young teenager is know for their brains and judgment.
Our own President was drugging his brain in HS, which can explain his need for a TelePrompter and the need to push a race and class card.
Wrong, nowhere in the article did the five WaPo sources actively take part in the assault. Nice try deflecting. Mittens is toast, Paul has a better chance.

It would only be bullying if Obama had done it, the self-Righteous will tell us it was only another day of fun & games on the Biff-mobile.
As a 14 yr old at elite "Cranbrooke School", Romney was known for his "practical jokes" , such as the time he led a posse of his fellow little brown shirts, as they tackled a kid whose haircut Willard didn't like, and pinned the crying child down so Romney could cut his hair with scissors.
Or, there was the time Willard escorted a blind teacher right into a closed door.
... What a surprise! Scratch these privileged little buttoned-down mama's boys, and you'll ALWAYS a bully lurking underneath.
These could be seen as wayward incidents from a youth spent seeking a path in life. Except psychologists tell us our basic nature is set by age five ( Any of us who have raised kids can attest to the truth of that).
These stories will resonate, because they illustrate a central truth about Romney's nature that only get exposed accidentally in bits and pieces when he lets his guard down- that he's got a bossy, sadistic, passive-aggressive streak a mile wide, and he takes it out on people who can't defend themselves, who he thinks are "below his station" in life.
No wonder Romney doesn't "relate" to normal people. He isn't one.
This guy turned out to be extremely successful in life, family and business unlike someone else we all know who was not even raised in America and spent many years out of America learning how to hate it.

come on, you know the left will try to play this to the hilt and yes, the right would have done the same if it was Obama. it really is a nothing story for heaven's sake. Plus we have no idea if any of this is even true. Anyone can say, anything....
