Now, DB is no right-wing website, Clift is a raging liberal and Hart is a democrat pollster.

In Focus Group, Independent Voters Souring on Obama - The Daily Beast

Quote:
Five months from Election Day, can the White House hear the harsh message pollsters are sending?
What message does he have left? Blame Bush worked well in 2010. The economy is better is a sure fire loser...according to democrats.

Bain seems to have bolstered ROMNEY, not obama.

Quote:
Nine of the 12 people gathered in Denver on Tuesday voted for Obama in ’08, but only three lean toward him at this point.
I imagine quite a few are actually embarrassed when they look back and listen to some of his rhetoric...and they believed it. (oceans and planets come to mind).

Of course, Hart and Clift are not the only ones sounding the alarm. Some of the same folks that sounded the alarm before the 2010 elections are at it again.

I believe it was Greenberg that warned the dems NOT to pursue obamacare.

James Carville and Stan Greenberg Have A Message For Obama: Talk More About The Next Four Years - ABC News

Quote:
Stop trying to convince voters that the last four years have been good for them, and start talking about what you are going to do in the next four years to make the economy and their lives better.
He has NO plans. Entitlement reform? Nowhere to be found.

Quote:
“We will face an impossible headwind in November if we do not move to a new narrative, one that contextualizes the recovery but, more importantly, focuses on what we will do to make a better future for the middle class.”
I call it the end of the Red Tide that came ashore in 2010.

Obama campaign’s rough patch concerns some Democrats - The Washington Post

Quote:
Is it time for Democrats to panic?

That’s what a growing number of party loyalists are wondering, amid a rough couple of weeks in which President Obama and his political operation have been buffeted by bad economic news, their own gaffes and signs that the presumed Republican nominee is gaining strength.
Could be...which is an amazing development so soon after those damaging republican primaries that supposedly hurt Romney so bad.

Quote:
Eight other prominent Democratic strategists interviewed shared that view, describing Obama’s team as resistant to advice and assistance from those who are not part of its core.
Just look at this new poll, just out.

http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/...85E1CO20120615

Quote:
(Reuters) - With President Barack Obama and Republican challenger Mitt Romney delivering dueling visions for the U.S. economy in speeches on Thursday, a majority of independents said that Obama's policies have made it harder for Americans to gain employment, a Reuters/Ipsos poll showed on Friday.
The numbers here are pretty bad, including his approval rating of 47% approval, 50% disapproval. And then we have him leading Romney 45%-44% in a head to head match up.

Now for the BIG news on this poll.

.......Reuters/Ipsos used a 15 point party ID advantage in favor of the democrats.

58% democrats to 43% republicans.

Democrats are hurting themself with the unfocused message and flip flopping. 1 minute economy is fine, Obama saved it, the next minute, the economy sucks, and of course because Obama just took credit for it, people will blame him..

Attack big business, and rich people while Obama runs around at $40,000 a plate dinners.

When all else fails, they shout racism. Nope, no one wants to hear that crap either, and thats a major turn off to most americans who have a different opinion.

keep it up, Democrats killing their own campaign chances right before our eyes...

What we are seeing is the fracture of the democrat party and if obama loses it will implode, with moderates blaming the Left for the resurgence of conservatism and the toxicity of liberalism.

We love to watch McLaughlin on Friday nights, if for no other reason than to see Clift squirm. She is so to the left of almost anyone and such a strong Obama supporter, but she has said recently it doesn't look all that good for him. This article shows, even the left are beginning to realize things had better change fast or Obama is going to be a one term Pres.

That's one reason why I don't view Obama's latest stunt so negatively. It smells of desperation. The internal polls must be showing something dire. Bringing out this faux amnesty this early in the process. I wonder what he;ll do next? Refuse to enforce marijuana laws to stimulate the youth vote?

I said this early on Obama's strategy of building some sort of rainbow coalition while ignoring the white working class is a losing one. So maybe you squeak out victories in Nevada and Colorado. What good does that do if you lose OH and/or PA, WI and god forbid Michigan. Heck even Oregon maybe in play.

Democrats are always ready to panic. Nate Silver has Obama winning the election. Until he starts changing his prediction, I wouldn't panic.

If Nate Silver is your guide you may want to start panicking, somewhat. Obama has only a 13 electoral vote cushion according to Nate's "Now-cast".

Election Forecast: Obama Begins With Tenuous Advantage - NYTimes.com
Quote:
The first look at the 2012 FiveThirtyEight presidential forecast has Barack Obama as a very slight favorite to win re-election. But his advantage equates to only a two-point lead in the national popular vote, and the edge could easily swing to Mitt Romney on the basis of further bad economic news.

Mr. Obama remains slightly ahead of Mr. Romney in most national polls, and he has had a somewhat clearer advantage in polling conducted at the state level. Mr. Obama would be about 80 percent likely to win an election held today, according to the model.

However, the outlook for the Nov. 6 election is much less certain, with Mr. Obama having winning odds of just over 60 percent. The forecast currently calls for Mr. Obama to win roughly 290 electoral votes, but outcomes ranging everywhere from about 160 to 390 electoral votes are plausible, given the long lead time until the election and the amount of news that could occur between now and then. Both polls and economic indicators are a pretty rough guide five months before an election.

Obama has a milestone coming up. His next golf outing will be his 100th since he's been in office. All of this campaigning and press conferencing is not helping him meet his milestone.

"The next time President Obama hits the links, it will be his 100th round of golf since coming to the White House. That’s quite a milestone in just 3 1/2 years. As it takes him about six hours to drive to the greens and complete 18 holes, Mr. Obama has spent the equivalent of four months’ worth of work time golfing. Meanwhile, the U.S. economy has been stuck in a sand trap."

Sort of the same as Republicans running around whining and blaming Obama for the economic mess they created in the 2000's or whining about Obamacare when it's a law of Republican origin that was passed by the Republican Presidential candidate or whining about.

All of you lot are no different than the people you're casting down here. Just whiny, emotional, partisans of a different sort. You're just as bad as those on the left about whom you're complaining.

I didn't know that show was still on. That Clift woman must be like 100 years old by now. I used to watch the McLaughlin Group back maybe 20 - 30 years ago and she was old then and now I'm old so she must be really old. She's so cranky. She's been cranky like forever. It doesn't matter who is in office. She's just a sourpuss.

Is Mort Zuckerman still on? He used to be a reliable lib but he wrote this in April:

Mort Zuckerman: President Obama's Economic Programs Have Failed
