Me, too, but I'm getting over it. I think we're demanding too much because we're deathly afraid we'll end up with another inexperienced, dumb as rocks Obama clone who sweeps us off our feet. Republicans are generally smarter than that in that we're not generally swooners.

As of right now, I'd be OK with Rubio or Condi. That could easily change in a heartbeat. I'm not nearly as leary of Rubio as I am of Romney. What a hideous choice we've made.

Under Reagan, I got a $300 tax cut and my rent went up $2000 so I was worse off when he left office than I was when he took office.

While the bottom 20% saw a decline in their percentage of income paid in taxes, they also suffered large declines in the supply of affordable housing and large increases in the percentage of income paid in rent. Those at the economic margin became the leading edge of the then-emerging homeless population.

I don't think it is necessarily Reagans policies that make some think he is another Reagan, but his way with words and his overall attitude. Add to that, he was a teen when Reagan was Pres and a kid when Reagan was governor. The Cubans in Florida adored Reagan, I am sure this has enfluencd Rubios thinking. Maybe those of us who remember Reagan and especially those from Ca see the similarities more than the rest of the country. Again, it is more how he delivers his message than, maybe the message.

Of course he was and I know that from personal experience. We will not replace or get anything close to a Reagan in our lifetime but there are some that come closer to what we all miss than others. For me, that happens to be Rubio. Sure he sounded like another politician, he is, but he also seems to be able stand up for what he believes in. I think he has the personality to work with both sides, which is what we need and even things like his views on immigration, shows me he isn't afraid to speak out for what he thinks is right. He knows this isn't necessarily a popular view with many conservatives but it is how he feels.

More power to him if he has the ability to work with both sides.

I dont think anyone has been able to set the course straight in many many many years.

Would be nice to break this vicious cycle we are all in these days.....
