Funny. He didn't mention the $1.5 BILLION of federal money he acquired to bail out the Salt Lake City Olympics. And, he didn't even talk about how Toy's R Us came to be under Bain's tutelage. Didn't mention that Bain now owns Clear Channel Communications (which makes them Limbaugh and Hannity's boss) nor did he mention how another Bain subsidiary, EDGAR online, gives his corporate buddies all the information from anybody who makes an SEC filing.

There's a lot he didn't mention.

Oh, by the way...I noted that the camera angle at the beginning clearly showed no dog strapped to the top of the car.

It's a shame the current President can't make an ad like that. He just doesn't have the resume and record of accomplishment Mitt Romney does.

You mean businesses which pay taxes like Bain? Oh...but only after they've wheedled forgiveness of $10 million of debts and shove it off onto the taxpayers.

Mitt Romney

Bain created good-paying American jobs, which is more than the failure currently in the White House has ever done.

Businesses would not exist if we didn't have the type of government we have. Don't believe me? Go move your business to Somalia or the Sudan and see how successful you are. There is a reason why businesses are successful here. We have a stable democratic government that yields civil protection and a fair justice system. It's also because of a shared cooperation between government and businesses. No business was going to build canals in the last two centuries. Government took on that role and many business were able to operate efficiently. The same is true for electrification of rural farm areas. No utility felt it was in their profit motive to cater to rural farms. Government built the hydro plants and the electric lines that then made those areas the bread basket of the world. These are just two examples, which there are many. The notion that business spring up out of nothing is baloney.

Government tax money mostly comes from individual income taxes, not business taxes. The narrative that we should all bow down to the business owners is the current fad in GOP thinking -- and it doesn't withstand the slimmest scrutiny.

Besides from the empty platitudes, the theme of this ad is "the government is the problem" and we'd all be so much better off if we didn't have that nasty government. Well, seniors like both Social Security and Medicare, two of the five largest spending areas. Is Mitt going to rid us of those two? Is Mitt going to get rid of the other three, Medicaid, the military and interest on the debt? Those 5 are all there really is in federal spending. Everything else is inconsequential. If Mitt isn't talking about cutting those, then Mitt doesn't know what he is talking about.

But we DO know that Mitt wants to slash taxes. So, if he's not going to talk about cutting the big five and he's talking about cutting taxes, he's decided we should increase the deficit, because that's the causal effect.

Blaming government is not a positive ad.
