weve seen the disaster of one party rule in states like california (democrat) the whole south pretty much (republican)

as an independent i would vote obama if i was certain the gop would win the house and the senate.

i dont like one party rule, its proven it doesnt work. like i said, look at california, and look at the south.

I've always believed in divided government, but it only works when both sides are willing to negotiate. The tea party threw that concept out the window, and now we're getting absolutely nothing productive done. The ideal situation would be to ditch the tea party and have divided government again, but it may take giving the D's the house for a couple of years, and then running better, more traditional republican candidates who actually want to GOVERN, before that can happen. I personally don't think Rs are going to win the white house this round.

I've stated this numerous times before here that my biggest fear of a Romney Presidency is that it'll happen with Republican majorities in the House and Senate and we will have two years of unmitigated awfulness coming from Washington.
However, the overzealous of the current GOP will ultimately will likely guarantee a Democratic majority for generation to follow after a few years of living under legislation like the Ryan Plan.

Will many so called independents think about this going into the booth this year? Probably not.

''then running better, more traditional republican candidates.'' Thanks for that. Needed a belly laugh.

You may think it's just a myth, but there really WERE moderate Republicans once upon a time. They're all wandering around looking for a party these days...

There's a strong argument to be made there. We saw what an all Republican government looked like in 2000-2006 and it wasn't fiscal responsibility and sensible legislation.

I agree. The insanity has been a relatively recent development. As for me, yes, I am scared s-less of a teavangelist Congress and a rubber stamp Romney. The republicans demand ideological purity and that is a prescription for disaster IMO. It could be a generation before we get back on the path of progress again. Want proof? Look at what is going on in Arizona.

Perhaps, but a all Democrat government in 2008-2010 was hardly fiscally responsible either were they?
