A new Rasmussen poll demonstrates just how false a note Obama struck when he insisted that small businessmen don’t build their businesses.

According to the poll, 72 percent of likely voters believe that people who start small businesses are primarily responsible for their success or failure. Only 13 percent disagree. The latter number presumably corresponds to the percentage of people who believe that money grows on trees.

Respondents also overwhelmingly said that small business owners work harder than other Americans. And most believe that entrepreneurs who start businesses do more to create jobs and economic growth than big businesses or government.

Obama increasingly is framing this election as the clash of two visions. The problem for him is that his vision, when honestly articulated off of the teleprompter, conflicts with the traditional American vision that, though decreasingly robust, still holds sway. Unfortunately for Obama, in a moment of weakness he honestly articulated his vision.

But Obama was talking about the infrastructure...the physcal building that the business resides in, and associated roads/bridges to get to the building.

THAT is absolute NONSENSE that Obama is NOW spouting in a desperate attempt to parse his actual words.

Watch and listen to the tone and way he delivers those words and anyone can tell that is NOT what he was saying at all.

Nice try Obama.....but you said it and you cannot nuance or parse what America saw and heard!!!

Furthermore.......

What business DOESN'T have a road going to it or out in front of it?

IF the only per-requisite to a business being successful was having a raod or bridge nearby, then EVERY business would be a success.

Its the PEOPLE INSIDE doing the work and running the business that makes it a success....not the damned ROAD or BRIDGE!!!

No he was not. That infrastructure exists BEFORE a business can be built, and is already paid for. Thats like claiming landscapers arent successful because the grass is there already.

I cant believe the number of left wing kooks that actually believe the spin attempt. According to their argument, american households arent broke, arent facing record forclosures, and there are jobs all over the place, because clearly all houses have roads that lead to them.

Shhh, those arent facts, unless you ignore the fact that there are lots of businesses that fail, despite roads leading up to them.

Hey F40, why dont you explain the massive layoffs which occured during the 2007-2008? Did they suddenly tear up the roads causing businesses to go bankrupt?

+1

Anyone who watches and hears Obama actually deliver those words KNOWS exactly what he was talking about.

Now that he knows he stepped in it, he's out there parsing his words and attempting to backtrack on them.

If those words were SO true (as many here on this forum have attempted to justify for days) , then why is Obama now back-tracking, parsing, nuancing, and trying to explain them?

Go back on this forum to the day he said it and the next couple days.....you'll see Liberals trying to justify what he said.

Now they suddenly say he didn't really mean it that way....and the Liberal media is out there covering for him.

The problem is Obama has no vision. He has vague ideas but he doesn't even know how to make them happen. It's why he had to leave even important things like Obamacare up to others.
