“Pennsylvania’s PBS Coals Inc. and the affiliated RoxCoal Inc. announced that they would idle some of their deep and surface mines, laying off 225 employees in the process. 'We are deeply disappointed and saddened that we had to take this action, but the excessive and unnecessary actions of the Obama administration have disrupted our mining operations and taken away much of the market for our coal,' Koontz added. 'In turn, this will drive up electricity costs for everyone and increase the cost of goods for American citizens.'

Can I put the mine union workers in the "NO" column for Obama?

Coal companies announce layoffs, blame Obama administration | The Daily Caller

Where are the Republican energy ads? Where are the ads saying Obama is fulfilling his 2008 campaign promise to destroy the coal industry? Where are the Republican ads making the connection for middle class people not on food stamps or welfare that electricity doesn't grow on trees and that it's not just in their electric bill that they will be hurting but they will be hurting at the store for this Obama War of Coal?

LOL, nice propaganda. So instead of working towards making their product less polluting and figuring out ways to better the industry in tough times, they would rather just lay off people and blame the president.

The article states that the warm winter and a surge in natural gas has caused for less demand on coal. Yep its Obamas fault.

Oh, the horror! Instead of "corporate profits uber alles", the Obama administration is imposing some strict regulations on the American coal industry, so we don’t start to look like China! Besides, we have plenty of natural gas that can already meet these standards....

What's wrong with you. It's not propaganda.

Coal is the dirtiest energy source there is and it is going the way of the dinosaur as it should. Natural gas is replacing coal. It is economic pressure not politics or Obama. It is called "change" - a word that strikes terror in the hearts of the right. Clean air and electrical generation are not mutually exclusive goals, either. BTW, PA is becoming a force in NG production.

Big Coal's problems are due to the absolute glut of natural gas on the market. Gas plants are cheaper and cleaner to operate than coal so many energy producers are either converting existing plants or taking them off-line in favor of new natural gas fueled generators. But sure, blame Obama.

The only way coal makes a comeback is if there has been a major overestimating of shale derived gas reserves, or there is a major ecological disaster with an aquifer.

Liberals revel when people lose their jobs in the name of "environmentalism."

Obama promised to close the entire coal industry.

He promised that under him, electric prices would "necessarily" skyrocket.

He said coal-powered electricity production would plummet.

He snuck a 30 year moratorium on off shore oil drilling on America.

It's a tragedy what he's doing to the people who depend these industries. And then Liberals argue that he's a job creator and not a destroyer. They argue that it's not HIS fault that there are record numbers of Americans going onto welfare and disability or the forecast that we are headed to 1960's poverty levels.

Nothing is EVER Obama's fault even when he says so in his own words!
