I do believe the poster meant being tired of that and other things, not to call Dewhurst a Socialist though it can be read as such.

Dewhurst. He appeared at a CFA store to show up his social conservativeness. Pandering to the anti-gay vote. Honestly, Dewhurst was whooped good. 56-44% with 86% of the statewide vote in.

I'm sure Dewhurst is in shock ..... it was his turn to be Senator, nobody has the right to take that away from him. They told him it was his turn!

That's the way it's run in most States - a fairly small group of 'movers & shakers' and decide when it's 'your turn' and then it happens. The same group continue to run things and keep all the influence in Government.

People are tired of that stuff - Dewhurst & Cruz hold mostly the same views, but the people of Texas (and I think in many areas of the country) are just Fed Up with the cronyism and some small group on insiders deciding who's turn it is.

Cruz was outspent, Dewhurst ran one of the ugliest campaigns I've ever seen -- he managed to turn people against him ..... and Darn It! It was his turn! Dewhurst thought he had a victory in the bag - Cruz spent two years traveling all over the huge State of Texas giving speeches to anyone who would sit still for them. He gained the support of the Tea Party (mostly based on his many successful US Supreme Court appearances), gained some National attention and got lucky when AG Holder decided to help him out by suing Texas over the redistricting. The Texas primary was pushed back 3 months, which gave Cruz the extra time he needed to continue his trek across Texas.

He fought a good fight, he deserved to win. Time for a broom in Washington D.C. - time for the old codgers who think they have permanent rights to those career seats to find out that the people are going to decide that ..... Cruz was way outspent, but it didn't come down to money. It came down to 'change'. Texas has some very promising Hispanic Republicans, Cruz is one of them - I wish them all well. If they don't do a good job, we keep trying until we get it right.

I don't think this sort of thing is a positive for the Republican party at all. The guy that won bothers me for some reason. However, this is Texas and it's their election, not for me to say.

If the tea party actually does overturn the established republican juggernaught in Texas, then the republican party as a whole is in big trouble.

He bothers me too.

His father supported the Cuban revolution and fought alongside Castro.
