Its too difficult to unseat a sitting president! The undecided and flaky tend to go.for the incombents. Even with the perfect conditions Willard has had losing is his best bet.

I'm not biased, just truthful. I actually will vote for Gary Johnson. All this political circus with the POTUS as clowns is a waste of time. If politics was not a joke the third party candidates would be taking part and not getting arrested.

The time is ripe for a 3rd party to get it's act together. The question is: what does that phrase actually mean?

So far, all the 3rd parties have only been oppositional to the major parties. They don't have much going in proposition that will appeal to a large voting base. For a 3rd party to ever succeed, it will need to capture a firm base of at least 25% of the electorate who will turn out every time for every election, whether it be national, state, or local.

Such a party will need to have a long term agenda and a steady supply of young up and comers who are willing to take an inch, not a mile, whenever an inch is all they're gonna get.

A new party is so badly needed here as a home for those on the right who are reasonable, not bigots and really want America to move forward no matter who is in office.

There is a way for a third party to gain power but no third party is even trying.

First you need a ground game to gain some local power and then to gain seats in State houses. From that base, get control of state houses and gain seats in congress and win some Governor seats all before ever running for president.

then and only then after the third party has gained a power base will they be taken seriously by the American people.

IF they ever do that, they can then win the White House.

Until then, all Third Parties will ever do is insure the party furtherest from them will win the White House. Just look at the elections in 2000, 1996 and 1992 as proof.

I think you're right. Building some local and state presence would be a key to becoming a solid presence.

I've voted Libertarian a couple of times, but realized they're not a serious policial party. They're more like a social club who like to gripe about politics and then every fourth year pretend like they'll do something about it.

Carter was readily unseated, as Obama will be.

Oh............... do you mean like Carter and Bush 1?

We have the worst economic performance of any president since the Great Depression. Carter was bad, but not as bad as Bo.

You would be right if the current president had performed even modestly well. However, his ineptitude and dismal economic performance assures his defeat.

The liberals will be very unhappy the day after the election. They really do not understand that due to the economy alone, Obama's fate is already sealed. His foreign policy blunders are just additional nails in the coffin.
