Funny how you are comparing a bill to a presidential candidate like it is the exact same thing....also funny that you would be critical of a bill not having details, yet not of a candidate.....hypocritical much?
It's a great example....that bill is going to change everyone's life, and this next president will change everyones life.....
Your failure to understand, does not mean I'm wrong.
Gurbie, do you think taxes are easy to do or explain?? Why do you think there are accountants, CPA's and attorneys. Because tax code is NOT EASY. So save it!
Your attack is baseless.
The argument is anything but baseless. Just because something is complicated doesn't mean it's impossible to understand. I file my own taxes every year. Do you? Yeah, it can be confusing, but I still get it done.
This is vital information that any voter is entitled to know and should want to know.
So Paul, take a stab at it. Explain the plan as best you can and we'll ask questions about the parts we don't understand.
OH, so that was the problem all this time on why Romney has not given the specifics to the American people on his tax plan. It would take too long to explain. Maybe they realized the arithmetic wasn't adding up like Clinton suggested in he speech at the DNC. Geeze, I was wondering all this time but I guess we finally know now folks. Mittster better find the time to explain it to the American people and he will have his chance on Wednesday but I'm sure it will the same old dance around the specifics so I don't expect anything different from this character. I guess these two still have the attitude.... Vote for me and I'll tell you the specifics after the election. Nah, it doesn't work that way. The American people are paying attention!
Did you listen to what Ryan said? He explained the tax plan in the 27 seconds he had to do it. In case your hearing isn't so good, here is what he said. The middle class is going to get a 20% tax cut. They will still keep deductions for home expenses, charitable deductions and health care. They will be sending less money to the government so they will have more take home pay. That is enough for me in a 27 second clip!
I listened and he didn't say a thing other than "we're going to lower taxes!" Woo hoo! Can we get a chicken in every pot, too?
Unbelievably condescending. You should be furious. Your candidates think you're too stupid to understand the changes they'd like to make to the tax code.

Maybe not a Chicken, but 16 million people now have an obama phone....that you and I are paying for....
Were you just as mad, when a 2600 page bill was passed and not read?

The difference is the HC bill actually EXISTED.
The issue with Romneys plan is not just whether or not people will like it, but rather the doubt that he actually even HAS A CLUE about what to do about the problem. ANYONE can SAY "I have a solution" - but actually having a solution is something else entirely -especially when the problem is such a difficult one.
THAT'S the reason the "It would take me too long to explain Romney's tax plan" approach is so damaging to the GOP campaign. It simply reeks of "not actually having a plan at all".

Ken
I agree to a point, but, they do have a plan, he has said it is/was/going to be similiar to Ryan's plan. Because you and others disagree with it, does not mean it does not exist.
You said yourself this is such a difficult situation, do you think this is just basic math or that every ho-hum person can understand? And do you think it was possible to explain it in a timeframe of just a few minutes, so that you could clearly understand it?

You know the "Obama phone" is a myth, don't you? That is was a program started under the Bush administration and is paid for by a telecom fee?
And yes, although I don't agree that "a 2,600 page gill was passed and not read," as a rule I think that members of Congress should read bills before voting on them. But what does that have to do with Ryan asking people to vote for him and Romney and then cavalierly glossing over the details of the thing they're claiming will be their main priority if elected? Don't YOU want to know? If not, why not? They're claiming it will fix the economy. Don't you think you need to know how they plan to do that?

Good grief! Congress and the president are people, not gods. The only plan they could possibly put together would involve basic math that every ho-hum person can understand. Yes, the problems are complex, but don't you want someone to at least attempt to explain the details so you know where they're going with it? Why do you sell yourself and other Americans so short?
