Neither has Romney. But prior military service doesn't mean you'll be a good president. Lincoln. Roosevelt.

I agree. I never viewed signing up for the military as "patriotic", I always viewed it as a way to get training and an education.. My cousins joined, one of them is in Dubai right now, and every few months is switched to a new base..

its almost like a 4 year vacation for him while he travels the world at the taxpayers expense..

No. Not everyone's daddy has $250 million sitting in a Swiss Bank account and can afford to pay for their child's tuition the way Mitt can.

Whats the point of the thread if you knew the answer?
I wanted to get different people's varying opinions as to why willard's children haven't volunteered. It would look favorable to Americans if at least one volunteered. The way it looks now, it gives the appearance of them being gutless little rich boys.

I wouldn't call it a vacation. Poorer kids enlist in the army. Smarter kids, and those from middle class families sign up in the navy and the air force.

But its still not a vacation. I had a lot of good times, but it wasn't a vacation.

Why do you think this is?
Romney seems all to willing to send others off to fight wars, why wouldn't he encourage his kids to go fight?
After all, even offspring of prominent officials in the UK have their offspring involved in ME wars.

Like father, like sons. Romney did all he can to avoid the draft during the Vietnam war, and his example was embrazed by his kids.

In the meantime Dear Leader has been in office for 3 1/2 of the last 11 years during the war in Afghanistan and Iraq yet two thirds of the total casualties, suffered since 2001, have happened under Dear Leader's watch.

Why does Obama enjoy viewing the bodies of dead soldiers coming home from Afghanistan?
