U.S. citizens who speak Spanish and English whose parents speak Spanish at home. This group is the hardest to poll and they carried Harry Reid. They are the reason NM, CO and NV aren't really in play.
That was my final (of many) reasons Romney never had a shot.
The United States has 1,436,642 active military personnel and 848,056 in the Reserves, that the majority doesn't like Obama! What difference will that make during the election count?
The military is not quite the solid conservative block people think it is. In particular, Obama has made some serious inroads with this group (full disclosure: I'm a Reservist).
First, the ops tempo has gone way down under Obama. We've finished Iraq and shutting down Afghanistan is on schedule. For troops that have had 5+ tours in the last decade, this is a huge rest.
Furthermore, Obama's handling of Libya and the Arab Spring were spot on. We were able to exert a military presence without getting mired in yet another war. This is a huge difference from what we saw under Bush.
Finally, there's a lot of mistrust for Romney in the military. He's got "integrity issues", no prior military experience, and hasn't explicitly pledged not to cut military manning levels (like Obama has). There's also a large Ron Paul contingent in uniform.
Altogether, Obama has gained the respect of a lot of people in the military. Eveny if they may not vote for him, we may see a lot of military ballots this year where the president is left blank.
Okay, here's a hint. This demographic brought Harry Reid back from the dead despite being down 3 in the polls.
I wasnt joking. If you dont require id to vote, dead people can vote! Whos to prove they are dead if they miss them on the rolls. Obamas secret weapon!
