It appears the issue of poor communication among the firefighters on 9/11 is still a very open issue. Inasmuch as 16 of the firefighters in my local fire station died that day, I have a personal interest in knowing what happened that caused all those brave men to move up, rather than out of a roaring, unmanageable fire as many as 100 stories above the ground when it was clear that their lives were in peril.

So I ask myself: "Is this a man I would like to see run a country?"

Oh yeah, now it's Gulliani's fault.

I suggest that the article be read, and understood in the context of the Mayor's role and responsibility in ordering up to date radio communicators, in light of 1993 WTC incident rather than take this report out of it's context and furthermore appreciate that the City administration did not send out competitive bids for newer equipment.

I did read the article and follow the additional link to the video. But....(there's always a but ) it's from the Huffington Post. The video is not much better. I do see that a NY City councilman supports an investigation but there is nothing official yet. I'm skeptical......for now. I may change my mind with more information. As for his ability to run the country, just a few things.....(and I'm not sure he's my guy yet, just responding...)

Thanks, Sooner_Nation_60, I'll be in the Apple in a week or two and I'll check out what folks are saying or doing about this issue. It's been on the back burner since '01, but now that the former Mayer is running on his past laurels, folks are coming out of the woodwork in NYC in negative ways.

And I don't find Huffington a bad blog, but yes, it often favours my position.

And PS - thanks for being sensitive to the issue.

So I ask myself: "Is this a man I would like to see run a country?"

No this isn't the man to run the country, nor is the other New Yorker in this race, but the way the media shoves these two down our throats we probably don't have any choice...land of the free eh?

Why do I smell Carville in this episode of 'yellow journalism'? Doesn't this have the style of a Hillary defamation? Remember the 'associates' of her husband? Were they not rendered un-credible in their accusations...of rape and sexual molestation? I've seen this style before and its too familiar...not buying it this time, sorry....got anything else?

The issue of communication between the police and firemen has been a long standing issue since 9/11. What was the Mayor's responsibility is always subject to dispute. But was he in charge of the City? You can answer that for yourself.

And feel free to puruse these urls:
